DUAL-MODE IMAGING & LASER MEASUREMENT SYSTEM

The PROWLER system is a multi-mode single electro-optical sensor system designed for smaller ROVs, sleds, and towed vehicles.

The PROWLER system is ideal for all types of subsea surveys from infrastructure GVI surveys to seabed assessments, environmental, habitat and species mapping surveys.

The multi-mode capability of the PROWLER system makes it our most versatile system, offering unique payload options for laser, video and still imaging in a single package. The flexible PROWLER system has multiple data capture modes available such as stills only, laser only, laser and stills, video only, and simultaneous video and stills.

IMAGE SEQUENCING

  • Sequential data capture means that stills and laser data or video and stills are captured in a controlled sequence.
  • Cathx precision timestamping for image and laser data is consistently timestamped when sensor exposure ends. The timestamp counter is driven by a 180MHz clock providing 1.4µs accuracy.

HIGH-PRECISION OUTPUTS

  • High-resolution still imaging: 0.63mm per pixel.
  • High-resolution laser imaging: 1.3mm spacing between points at 2 meters.

PULSAR

The Pulsar Strobe light is an Ultra High output LED-based Strobe light. The unique design of the Strobe light means it can provide up to 150,000 lumen output power up to 10 millisecond pulse widths per panel.

FAST MODEL VIDEO

Fast Model Video is focused on high quality video for vehicle piloting and sharp stills for subsea inspection workflows. This camera range has a sensor area typically twenty times larger than conventional subsea HD cameras and a fast dual-ARM processor. The Fast Model Video’s sensitivity, combined with low exposures and progressive scan imaging, produces the sharpest image detail available from a moving vehicle. Delivers superior subsea HD Video compatible with existing HD Infrastructure and supporting a wide range of video outputs. Capable of dual mode operation – capturing video and stills simultaneously.

VIDEO CAMERA & STROBE LIGHTING
  • There are many limitations associated with traditional video cameras for AUV and ROV platforms. Motion and continuous lighting can create poor visibility due to scatter from particles and motion blur. Illumination range is generally compromised and high powered-lighting is necessary to achieve any adequate clarity.
  • Using short exposure times for each frame, the Fast Model Video camera overcomes these restraints.

FAST MODEL

The Fast Model operates in Laser only or a combined Stills plus Laser processing modes. This subsystem includes a Laser module that produces a green laser line. The green line laser is a 520nm, Class 3B laser which produces a straight line with uniform intensity and optimal wavelength for water penetration. This system can capture HD Still images and laser profiles in a rapid sequence providing laser 3D data with co-registered still images.
