SUBSEA MEASUREMENT AND INSPECTION SYSTEM FOR EVERY MISSION

EVERY SUBSEA OPERATION BRINGS WITH IT UNIQUE CHALLENGES.

All subsea operations present unique challenges. Whatever the application – be it pipeline, mooring chain, FPSO hull, monopole, spool, flowline or riser – each has its own technical requirements. Integration specifications also differ from one vehicle type to another. Faced with these complexities and a spectrum of data processing, display and review assignments, engineers and surveyors need systems and tools they can rely on.

Cathx Ocean has developed a range of imaging and inspection systems to address these challenges. Designed to meet the specific technical, operational and integration requirements associated with each application and underwater vehicle type, our systems offer precision, reliability and peace of mind. The range includes:

Unmatched Image Quality and Precision Measurement Produce Richer, More Reliable Data

To make our systems faster and more efficient, we have changed how subsea video, still image and laser data is acquired and processed.

Traditional underwater vehicles run at speeds of 0.5 knots with ranges of up to 3 metres. By enabling speeds of up to 8 knots and ranges of up to 10 metres, our advanced imaging systems substantially reduce vessel time.

As the only fully integrated subsea machine vision systems available, the Cathx Ocean suite surpasses the regular functions of a camera in terms of quality, while also facilitating so much more.

Pulsed lighting and rapid exposures eliminate the poor visibility issues often attributed to conventional cameras. Our entire range outperforms standard cameras, gathering considerably better data per second through short-interval acquisition times and additional metadata extraction during the off cycle.

With microsecond collection and synchronisation capabilities, Cathx Ocean systems can spatially register laser and image data sets to millimetre accuracy.

Precision still image, laser point cloud and video outputs are automatically linked with the metadata. These rich data sets form the building blocks for future advances in data processing and machine automation.
